On April 9, 2024, a significant meeting took place in Beijing between Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Vuong Dinh Hue, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam.
During the meeting, Wang Huning highlighted the establishment of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, a strategic initiative announced by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He expressed China’s commitment to fully implementing the consensus reached by the top leaders of both countries and working towards strengthening the bilateral relationship.
In response, Vuong Dinh Hue reiterated Vietnam’s prioritization of its relationship with China, emphasizing the country’s adherence to the one-China policy and congratulating China on its achievements in socialism with Chinese characteristics. He expressed Vietnam’s willingness to enhance political mutual trust and practical cooperation with China, with a focus on deepening the strategically important Vietnam-China community with a shared future.
The meeting was also attended by high-ranking officials including Shi Taifeng, Wang Dongming, and Wang Dongfeng, signaling the importance both countries place on the discussions held. The outcome of this meeting sets a positive tone for the future of China-Vietnam relations and signifies a mutual commitment to further cooperation and collaboration between the two nations.
