Water Defender Clubs are strengthened in Chocó

Teaching Directors of the department assume a commitment to advance new strategies that allow the promotion of the Water Defenders Clubs, a program led by the company Aguas del Chocó

The company Aguas del Chocó, through the Social Management Area, has been working for several years with educational establishments in the department in order to promote awareness among high school students, teachings and experiences that guide the behavior and attitudes of its members towards the care and protection of natural resources, the preservation of water as an essential natural resource to improve the quality of life of communities with the support of teachers and directors.

The manager of Aguas del Chocó, Leiner Francisco Quinto Mosquera, highlighted the response to the call made by the departmental entity by the teachers who showed their interest in putting their ingenuity and capabilities in the intention of achieving a high level of awareness of the secondary school students about the protection and conservation of natural resources, especially in these times where climate change has taken on greater importance in the prevention of risks due to inappropriate use of water sources.

For Aguas del Chocó, the Water Defender Clubs are also a strategy that aims to

carry out the implementation of an educational process aimed at the entire student community of the urban areas in the municipalities linked to the PDA – Chocó, aimed at achieving the sustainability of investments in water, sewage, sanitation and the viability of the provision of the service, through the appropriate use of the installed infrastructure and the responsible practice of their rights and duties as users of the aqueduct service.

The teachers were given booklets and teaching materials so that they could carry out their work with recreational activities. The training will continue until tomorrow, which is coordinated by the Social Management Area under the responsibility of Yesenia Valderrama Rivas.
