Widow Yulia Navalnaya posted on X a video with photos of herself and her deceased husband, and wrote some nice words for him. “Thank you for 26 years of absolute happiness,” she begins. “Yes, even for the past three years of happiness. Of love too, because you have always supported me, because you made me laugh even from prison, because you have always thought of me. I don’t know how to live without you, but I will try to make you up there happy for me and proud of me. I don’t know if I can handle it or not, but I will try.”

“We will definitely meet again,” she writes. “I have so many stories to tell you, and I have so many songs saved for you on my phone. Stupid and funny, terrible songs too, but they are about us and I really wanted you to listen to them. And I really wanted to see you listen to them, laugh, and then hug me. I will love you forever. Rest in peace.”

Navalny’s daughter, Dasha Navalnaya, posted a photo of herself with her late father on Instagram and paid tribute to him in an accompanying message. She calls her parents her role models and her father “an example for many around the world”. “Your optimism and infectious smile, your curiosity and hunger for new knowledge, your incredible ability to get along with everyone. Your sense of humor and perseverance,” she sums up what she liked about him. “You have always been my role model, and you will continue to be so. I love you daddy, rest in peace.”
