With a network of cooperators they seek to confront the actions of armed groups

The support of citizens in providing information to strengthen the network of cooperators, in alliance with the public force, was one of the conclusions of the security council held in the municipality of Curumaní in which the issue of the insecurity generated was discussed. due to the actions of armed groups, mainly the National Liberation Army, ELN, which operates in the jurisdiction and in Pailitas.

The ELN, in addition to using graffiti with intimidating messages as a tactic, as happened recently in the urban area of Pailitas, extortions and kidnappings mainly keep the livestock sector in check, whose union cries out for security and protection from the authorities. .

In this regard, the Secretary of Government of Cesar, Eduardo Esquivel, reiterated that the network of cooperators is one of the great alternatives that ranchers have, who have communication radios and make them available to the Police and the Army to stay connected to any irregular situation.

“The Government of Cesar will study the possibility of providing a repeater to facilitate the communication process between ranchers and police. The idea is that ranchers will report if they begin to extort them.”

The aim is also to increase the strength of the Police and the Army, for which the mayor of Curumaní, Hermes Martínez, made the request, but also to improve the conditions at the police station.

“We will have greater control in the rural area to prevent cattle rustling and home robberies, we will fix the security cameras to monitor the municipality 24/7 and have greater control and with the ‘My Life with a Different Vision’ strategy, we are going to put our effort to help homeless and homeless people,” said the mayor.
