In response to this disaster, Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, has issued important instructions emphasizing the need to prioritize on-site rescue and treatment of the wounded. He has called for the investigation and timely handling of hidden risks to ensure the safety of people’s lives and property as well as overall social stability.
Li Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, has also instructed that all efforts be made to rescue the injured and conduct meticulous follow-up work. With the current May Day holiday attracting a large number of travelers and the possibility of adverse weather conditions, it is crucial to strengthen safety measures and prevent any further accidents or disasters.
