He went on to say, “The achievements in U.S.-China relations are thanks to the joint efforts of the people of both countries,” and especially emphasized, “The future of both countries depends on the youth.”
President Xi then quoted the Chinese proverb, “Read 10,000 books, walk 10,000 miles,” and introduced China’s plan to invite 50,000 American youth over the next five years to conduct an exchange student program.
