Yeferson Cossio, renowned ‘influencer’, spoke out about the million-dollar fine imposed by the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) on the Cossio SAS Group, for alleged misleading advertising related to its product called “Cossio Method.”
In a statement issued via his Instagram stories, Cossio addressed the issue of the sanction, expressing his surprise at the recent attention the matter has received. According to him, this is an “old issue” that has been handled by his lawyers for a long time.
The SIC, in its Resolution No. 18525 of April 17, 2024, detailed that the fine amounted to “six hundred and forty current legal monthly minimum wages, equivalent to $813,002,240.”after an investigation that concluded that the advertising of the “Cossio Method” promised monetary gains in a short period of time, which was considered misleading advertising.

“The decision was adopted after this Superintendency carried out the corresponding administrative sanctioning investigation, in which it concluded that the investigated party engaged in misleading advertising about its product called “Cossio Method”, considering that the advertising message transmitted was the promise of monetary profits. at a certain time, in the following terms: «What are you going to think in five months? When all those who did buy the course are covered in followers, in money”, and “I mean, forty-nine dollars can be a lot, obviously for some people, but that, they can literally get rid of that with their first video.” “These statements formed an objective message and reinforced the idea that the “Cossio Method” did indeed help to achieve wealth in a short time, a message that was reinforced with the image of the influencer YERFERSON COSSIO, in charge of advertising the product,” said the SIC.
Cossio, in his response, noted that although he has made mistakes in the past due to lack of information, this is not the case in question. He stated that his lawyers are working on his defense. and that, if the SIC maintains its decision, it will abide by the law and pay the corresponding fine.
The ‘influencer’ made it clear that his intention is not to enter into confrontation with government entities, but rather to learn from mistakes and move forward responsibly. He concluded his message by reiterating his commitment to exercise his right to defense and accept the consequences if necessary.
