Yunnan Transnational Spring Festival Gala Welcomes “Sound of Spring·Golden Dream” in Bangladesh
On the evening of January 19, 2024, the 2024 “Voice of Spring·Golden Dream” transnational New Year Gala took place in Chittagong, Bangladesh, hosted by the cultural exchange group and artists from China’s Yunnan Province. The event was a carefully prepared artistic performance that brought New Year’s blessings to the city.
Prior to the gala, enthusiastic speeches were delivered by esteemed guests. Chittagong Mayor Lisau Karim Chowdhury expressed gratitude towards China for their assistance in completing large-scale projects in the city, signifying the rising development of Bangladesh. Le Liwen, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, emphasized the shared dream between the two countries, and Peng Bin, Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial Committee, highlighted the increasingly close exchanges and profound friendship between Chittagong and Yunnan Province.
The performance featured a diverse array of multicultural programs including Dai, Yi, Lisu, and Hani songs and dances, as well as acrobatics, magic, and instrumental music performances. The audience, comprising of over 500 people, responded with endless applause to the captivating showcase.
The event was captured on video by Yuan Hongkai, provided by the Information Office of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province. The gala was a testament to the strong cultural and friendly ties between Chittagong and Yunnan Province, with the promise of continuing cooperation in the future.
