Disillusionment in Dresden. At the bottom of the table, Markus Beginn’s team were once again unable to reward themselves for their efforts and left Breisgau with just one point. It’s still enough to jump to third place.
Dynamo Dresden has suffered another setback in the fight for promotion. With the second team from SC Freiburg, the Saxons couldn’t get past a 1:1 (1:1).

Dynamo starts off swinging
The SGD got into the game well and initially acted dominantly and determinedly. Consequently, Tom Zimmerschied gave the guests the lead. After a fine individual performance, Dresden’s most conspicuous player to date converted from a good 20 meters to make it 1-0 (28th). Just two minutes later, Jakob Lemmer had the opportunity to make it 2-0. But the 23-year-old from Dresden pushed the unsuccessful back pass from Freiburg’s Pascal Fallmann past the storming keeper Niklas Sauter and the goal.
Tom Zimmerschied (SG Dynamo Dresden, 22) scores the 0:1.
Freiburg’s first conclusion is in place
And so it happened as it had to happen: with the first shot on goal in the 41st minute, Freiburg equalized. After a free kick from Mika Baur and Stefan Kutschke’s clearing action, the ball landed at the feet of Yann Sturm, who volleyed the ball from 19 meters into the bottom right corner.
In the second half it remained quite entertaining and became even more combative and rough at the back, but another goal didn’t want to be scored. And the Dresden team must be blamed for leaving too much behind, especially in the first half. That’s how head coach Markus beginning saw it, who afterwards mourned the missed opportunities to make it 2-0. In particular, he would have heartily granted the three points to the fans who had traveled with him and who loudly cheered on his team throughout the entire 90 minutes.
SGD in relegation place
Dynamo can only make limited use of the mistakes made by the competition from Münster and Regensburg by winning points. Although the Dresden team moved past Preuß Münster, who are tied on points, into third place in the table due to the better goal difference, the two points they missed in Freiburg could still hurt in the final tally.
