Michael Preetz, long-time manager of Bundesliga club Hertha BSC, is tackling his new role as managing director of MSV Duisburg in the 3rd football league.
“We are all facing a situation here that is extremely challenging. But my batteries are full. I want to get involved now and help,” said the 56-year-old at his official presentation on Tuesday (January 23, 2024). MSV is in acute danger of relegation in the 3rd league. Duisburg are in second-to-last place in the table after 21 of 38 games.
“I thought carefully about whether I would go in here in this situation,” said Preetz. “And I only did it against the background that the firm conviction had matured in me, even after many intensive discussions, that we can do this together. We will subordinate everything to that.”
