Nils Döring is supposed to save SV Wehen Wiesbaden from relegation from the 2nd league. The previous assistant coach succeeds the dismissed Markus Kauczinski.
SV Wehen Wiesbaden will not hire a new coach for the remaining three games of the season. As the Hessians announced on Tuesday, the previous assistant coaches Nils Döring and Giuliano Modica will lead the team until the end of the season.
Döring acts as head trainer, Modica as his assistant. They will have club legend Alf Mintzel as their second assistant coach. Markus Kauczinski, who looked after the SVWW in the first 31 games, was fired by the Hessians after the 3-5 defeat against Greuther Fürth last Sunday.
Managing director Nico Schäfer said they decided on the internal solution “with full conviction”. “Nils knows the SVWW and the team, is a football teacher and is aware of the great challenge. We are convinced that we will manage to stay in the league in this constellation.”
Firm belief in staying in the league
The SVWW is in 16th place in the table. in acute distress. The Hessians still have two home games ahead of them against promotion candidates Kiel and St. Pauli and an away game against relegation rivals Braunschweig.
“I know the boys and am absolutely convinced of the fundamental qualities of the team. That’s why I firmly believe that we will manage to stay in the league,” said the new head coach Döring, nevertheless optimistically. He is looking forward to the task and thanked the club for the trust they have placed in him.
