The Scarlet Club, América de Cali, has confirmed the dismissal of Venezuelan coach César Farías after reaching a mutual agreement with club leaders Marcela Gómez (president) and Tulio Gómez (major shareholder). Farías, who only lasted 3 months and a few days in his role, was officially let go following the departure of Lucas González and the failed attempt to hire Ricardo Gareca.
Farías was unable to lead América to the semi-final home runs of the BetPlay I-2024 League, which ultimately led to his departure. Reports from the Valle del Cauca press suggest that there were additional off-field issues concerning the management of the team, which may have contributed to the decision to part ways with the coach.
Despite Farías’ previous success as a champion in Bolivia and Ecuador, his tenure at América saw him oversee 18 games, with 6 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses. With a total of 25 points, the team finished in tenth place and was eliminated from the Betplay League with one match remaining in the season.
Farías’ departure marks the end of a challenging season for América de Cali, with the search now on for a new coach to lead the team in the future.
