Andria-Paganese: confirmation of a great group at ultras level

This twenty-sixth day of the Serie D championship in Group H offers a very interesting Andria-Paganese with the hosts in amazing form and it is a shame that the Apulian team had a difficult first part of the season, otherwise today they would be playing against ‘Altamura, the other co-regional that is dominating the group.

I arrived in Andria well in advance, convinced that kick-off was at 2.30pm, but then once I arrived in front of the stadium I realised, or rather they informed me, that the match would take place at 4pm. Not bad, there remains a wide margin of time to get around the city as best as possible, starting from Castel del Monte which, however, is located well away from the town centre. When the time comes to gain entry to the stadium, I find myself in the presence of an always very beautiful and fascinating “Degli Ulivi” which preserves intact all the atmosphere of the stadiums I have experienced even if this inevitably involves some problems on a structural level.

Crowds are expected for special occasions, as will in fact be the case especially in the Curva Nord, which is full, compact and in great shape. On the other hand, the pagans reach the Apulian city in about 200 units and at the beginning of the match they offer a great choreography with cards with the star and the wording “Curva Nord” completed by the banner: “Defenders of the homeland, bearers of values ”. The people of Andria instead dedicate this initial moment to raise a banner in memory of Beppe, the Lucchese ultras who died during the week, also by virtue of the bond of friendship between Andria and Lucca.

A very pleasant match, a great first half played well by both teams and which ended with the score tied, 1 to 1. However, the restart was clearly the prerogative of the Apulian team which closed with a clear 3 to 1, consolidating its third position, also if the league leaders Altamura maintains its reassuring margin of eleven points. However, I can say that it was a great ultras day, corroborated by the performance of both sets of fans who confirm, for the umpteenth time, how group H of the Serie D championship is, from a supporter’s point of view, the best in national level without fear of any denial.
