The president of Olancho FC has made some shocking revelations about Andy Nájar’s requests for his signing to the Potros for Clausura 2024.
In a surprising turn of events, Nájar, a former DC United player, was close to signing with Olancho FC but decided to instead join Olimpia. Samuel García, the president of the Potros, did not hold back when he lashed out against Nájar, accusing him of using their team as leverage to secure a deal with Olimpia.
García revealed some of Nájar’s requests, including vouchers for the supermarket and fuel, a photo because he wanted a car of the year to be rented to him, and rent for a house and an apartment for his friends. Nájar also asked for $500 per goal and requested the contract to show it to another team. Garcia expressed that all of Nájar’s demands were “incredible” and that despite reaching an agreement, Nájar ultimately used them.
This shocking behavior has led García and his team to decide to take legal action against Nájar. They feel that Olimpia is responsible for taking away players from other teams only to have them sit on the bench. García expressed his frustration that Olimpia “will be champion for life because you can’t compete that way.”
Nájar will be officially joining Olimpia as of Thursday, January 25, and according to Samuel García, Nájar also requested the signing of Alexander López to join the Olancho FC squad.
The saga continues in the Honduran transfer market, as tensions rise and the battle for top players intensifies.
