Bronze for Gianmarco Tamberi in the high jump final at the Indoor World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. The Olympic champion of the specialty won the bronze medal by jumping the measure of 2 meters and 31 centimeters. The gold medal went to the Korean Sang-hyeok Woo with the measure of 2.34, silver for the Swiss Loïc Gasch with 2.31 but one less error than Tamberi who finished ex aequo with the New Zealander Hamish Kerr.

Tamberi made his debut in the high jump competition at the Indoor World Championships in Belgrade showing a Ukrainian flag drawn on his shoulder with two names written underneath: Bondarenko e Protsenko. They are Bodhan Bondarenko and Andriy Protsenko, two Ukrainian high jumpers absent from the world championship due to the war in their country, unleashed by the Russian invasion.
