Several international top clubs are interested in signing Bilal El Khannouss (19) during the summer mercato. Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, among others, are showing interest. No club has registered for the Cegeka Arena yet, so there is no question of a direct transfer at the moment.
Bilal El Khannouss and his entourage – his mother is now also his official agent – have already been invited by various clubs. The candidates would include Liverpool and Leverkusen, but the name that has been mentioned most often is that of Atletico Madrid. According to one Nico Schira on X, the Spanish club is even preparing a contract proposal for five seasons.

Because Atletico has not yet registered for Genk, such a proposal would be premature at the very least. And even in violation of UEFA regulations, El Khannouss is still under contract with KRC Genk until mid-2027. Genk has already indicated that they want to participate next summer in what will be the most expensive outgoing transfer in history. Until now, this is still Sander Berge’s transfer to Sheffield United in January 2020, when the Premier League club had 25 million available for the Genk midfielder.
