Biancoblù gathered in Sassari under the orders of coach Cavina

SASSARI. The Dinamo Banco di Sardegna season has officially begun. This morning the Sassari team gathered at PalaSerradimigni under the orders of coach Demis Cavina and physical trainer Matteo Boccolini for the first training session. All the Italians answered the call, from captain Jack Devecchi to veterans Stefano Gentile, Massimo Chessa and Luca Gandini, from Kaspar Treier to the newly arrived Jacopo Borra, up to the very young aggregates: Christian Martis, Marco Antonio Re, Luca Sanna, Stefano Piredda, Riccardo Pisano, Gabriele Carta and Matteo Cabras. The Sassari sports field will be the headquarters of the biancoblu preparation: the work on the parquet will be accompanied by that in the gym. The arrivals of foreign athletes are scheduled for the next few days: Eimantas Bendzius, Christian Mekowulu, Tyus Battle and David Logan are expected in Sardinia while the last to join will be Jason Burnell, who is busy with the Denver Nuggets in the Summer League. The arrival of Anthony Clemmons is still being defined.

“The emotion is great, I could not wait to arrive and I am really excited and motivated for this season – declares Cavina – I have never forgotten Sassari, for me it is like going home”. As for the team, “I would like this Dinamo to be athletic, chameleonic and above all hardworking”, explains the coach, while for captain Devecchi “the first day of school is always beautiful and exciting, for me even more because I have returned from a long stop and I couldn’t wait to tread the parquet «. The first match for the Sassari team is on the agenda on 27 August, with the challenge of the eleventh edition of the City of Cagliari International Tournament, in which Banco will face Bayern Munich, Baskonia and the newly promoted Napoli.
