IN SECRECY
Gaglianico with Roberto Doria, Enzo Granaglia and Gabriele Graziano last Sunday 27 February, on the grounds of the Salassa bowling alley, won the first edition of the Renato Battaglino memorial, a bowls competition with the formula of the backhoe poule. There were 32 formations at the start. In the final they overcame the Brb Ivrea team formed by the very president Aldino Bellazzini in training with Daniele Grosso and Fabrizio Deregibus with a score of 10-3. The event was organized by Brb Ivrea in collaboration with the Canavese territorial technical committee. Renato Battaglino, who died on February 6, 2021 at the Ivrea hospital after a short illness, was the founder first, then a player and finally a manager of the Ivrea club.
A sudden loss that created a huge void. Battaglino had great skills in managing and organizing Canavese society.
In the first phase of the tournament, the bowling alleys of San Giorgio and Rivara were also played. In the semifinals, Bellazini’s Brb won against another Brb formation (Grattapaglia, Cavagnaro and Remino) 13-0, while Gaglianico beat Pozzo Maina (Porta, Franco and Luciano) 8-2. In the quarters, Bellazzini’s Brb had defeated Mondovi 13-5, Grattapaglia’s Brb Auxilium Saluzzo 13-5, Pozzo Maina had beaten Chiavarese 12-6, finally Gaglianico di Doria had overcome 13-6 the Noventa. –
