The president of the Tre Cime Promotor takes stock of the time trial and has doubts about its future. “I’m tired”

Brik promotes his 47th Alpe del Nevegal with flying colors. The hug on Sunday afternoon between the president of Tre Cime Promotor Achille “Brik” Selvestrel and his organizing team was significant when he started from Caleipo Diego Degasperi, the last competitor in the race.

The 2021 edition required some more effort.

«Sunday morning I was already on the field at 6 and I was worried because the weather was looking bad. There was some problem because it rained and the road was wet. But in the afternoon the sun gave us a hand. This year we had more difficulties than last year, perhaps because we were still tired from the Rally Bellunese two months ago ».

One fly in the ointment.

«The full house of the missing public. Someone came and that’s okay, otherwise we lose what is the passion for this sport. We must also let people see it and be passionate about it, allowing young people to enter this circus ».

Security also played its part.

“Everything went fine. There was a small accident on Sunday in Race 1, but nothing serious, so we close with the conviction that we have offered maximum safety ».

The term of office of the president of Tre Cime Promotor expires at the end of the year. Among the rumors there are those who say they leave and those who say they stay. The question is therefore a must: Will Brik continue to lead the Tre Cime Promotor?

“I’m not out of balance yet. At this moment I could say that I would miss this situation that sees me as the organizer in the first person. But it is an important commitment and I am also a bit tired. Until December I have time to decide and at this moment I put myself on standby. It is undeniable that I would hate to leave, but it is tiring and stressful. It is difficult to keep the organizing group together: this is a cog in which everything must be perfect and we cannot allow anything to hitch ».

One last consideration …

«To carry on this activity I had to give up being a pilot. I used to do ten races a year, now I do two at the most. My passion is racing in a car, as well as making others race. In September I will already be driving to Pedavena ».
