WEAPONS. Pf Broni 93 is fully booked and on 12 September, during the official presentation in the gardens of Villa Nuova Italia (at 6 pm) it will announce its main sponsor. On Wednesday, the three foreigners joined the Italian seniors, who should make their debut in the first friendly of the season scheduled for Saturday (duo at 7pm) at PalaBrera against Akronos Moncalieri, a newly promoted team in Serie A1.
Tijana Krivacevic, 31-year-old center, Serbian with Hungarian passport, Nina Dedic, 24-year-old big forward, Croatian, Klaudija Perisa, 25-year-old winger, also Croatian, immediately made themselves available to coach Andrea Castelli and are working together with their companions. They will be part of the starting quintet, together with Bestagno and Galbiati: obviously they will be called to make an important contribution in terms of points and rebounds, given their vast international experience.
Meanwhile, the complete picture of the pre-season friendlies has been defined.
After Saturday’s debut against Moncalieri, Broni will be on the field on Wednesday 8 September in Castenaso (Bologna) against Faenza, another freshman (at 7 pm) for the Ford Stracciari cup; Saturday 11 September in Castenaso against Cecilia Zandalasini’s Virtus Bologna (at 9 pm) for the Ford Stracciari cup, Tuesday 14 September at PalaBrera (at 7 pm) against Brixia Brescia (Serie A2); Tuesday 21 September again at PalaBrera (at 7pm) against San Martino di Lupari of the former Giulia Ianezic. Finally, Saturday 25 September (at 8 pm) in Moncalieri.
Championship debut on 2 or 3 October in Moncalieri, home of the Opening day, against Venice, the reigning Italian champion. The day and time of the debut match is expected to be made official in the next few days; while the “first” housewife is set for Sunday 10 October at PalaBrera against Ragusa.
