RasenBallsport Leipzig is not exactly one of the most popular clubs in the Bundesliga. But the protest by Heidenheim supporters against the Saxons clearly goes too far. They distributed butyric acid in the away block before the game. The club has already reacted.
RasenBallsport Leipzig has been playing in the Bundesliga since 2016. But even in the eighth season, fans of other clubs are still bothered by the Saxons. Apparently because of the close connection to a drinks producer from Austria. Before the Bundesliga game between 1. FC Heidenheim and Leipzig, Heidenheim fans expressed their dislike for the guests from Saxony in a disgusting way.
The night before the game, fans distributed butyric acid in the visitors’ block. The entire fan block is said to smell like vomit. 1. FC Heidenheim confirmed the incident to Bild. “We apologized to our guests from Leipzig before the game and cleaned the guest block as best we could this morning. Of course we will investigate this matter,” said Petra Saretz, Head of Organization and Licensing at Heidenheimer.

As part of the disgusting acid campaign, the entrances to the guest block were covered with stickers saying “Football murderer RBL”. These are not the first attacks by Heidenheim supporters against Leipzig fans. There was an incident at Leipzig’s last away game in Heidenheim in September 2015 (1:1).
