From the appearance, the Binjiang Gymnasium is shaped like a bowl, so many citizens kindly call it the “little white bowl”. The museum has a building area of 57,000 square meters. It started construction in September 2014 and was put into operation in October 2017.
Before it was officially designated as a badminton hall, the Binjiang Gymnasium was actually used as a basketball hall. If you want to transform a basketball hall into a badminton hall, you need to be careful. The renovation is mainly divided into two major contents: the periphery of the site and the adjustment of internal functions. Two more design glass rooms are added outside the gymnasium, which are the newly added media center and security center.

According to the requirements of the competition, a referee room, infirmary, equipment room, doping control room and other functional rooms were added on the first floor, and two athletes’ locker rooms and auxiliary rooms were added on the second floor (12 badminton warm-up venues were arranged).
The rules of basketball and badminton are different, and the requirements for various facilities in the stadium are also different. For example, in terms of lighting, the original ring lights are adjusted to vertical lights, and the positions of the auditorium and VIP seats have been changed accordingly. The game can accommodate 3000 More people watched at the same time. In addition, barrier-free facilities have been added.
Up to now, the referee room, medical office, equipment room, doping test, barrier-free elevators, etc. of the Binjiang Gymnasium have been completed; the auditorium, VIP seats, and strong and weak current systems have been adjusted in place according to the requirements of the competition; the professional lighting subgroup of the competition is being adjusted , And complete the installation within 20 days after the adjustment is in place.
