Cartoons on the Bay crowns “The Wolfwalkers”. All festival prizes – Shows

Rome, 6 December 2021 – The winner of the “Pulcinella Award” as best feature film in the 25th edition of Cartoons on the Bay, the festival of Rai directed by Roberto Genovesi, which takes place until 8 December in L’Aquila and on the web in a hybrid edition (in presence and online). In fact, the winner is “The Wolfwalkers”. directed by Tomm Moore e Ross Stewart and produced by Cartoon Saloon.

The story is that of one young apprentice huntress and his father who go to Ireland to help exterminate the last wolf pack. But everything changes when the apprentice befriends a free-spirited girl from a mysterious tribe whose members are said to have the magical ability to transform into wolves at night.

In the list of the various categories, Italy is the nation most awarded with 5 awards. In fact, the other awards have gone for the Preschool Tv Series category The Game Catchers , or the “Game catcher “ (Rai Ragazzi, Studio Bozzetto); Nina & Olga (Rai Ragazzi, Enanimation, Mondo TV Producciones Canarias) won in the Upper Preschool Tv Series category; while Gigablaster (Gloob, Copa Studio, Estricnina Desenhos Animados) in Kids TV Series. The award for the best interactive and multimedia product went to Little Nightmares II (Tarsier Studios), for Live Action / Hybrid TV Series (live and animated series) Whatsanna (KidsMel), per Tv Series Pilots AquaTeam – Sea Adventure (Rai Radiotelevisione Italiana, GraFFiti Creative), for the Short Films category Thousands (Rai Ragazzi, Pixel Cartoon, IbiscusMedia (USA) – Cinesite (Canada) – Aniventure (United Kingdom).

In the Feature Films section, in addition to The WolfWalkers award for best director a Trash” (Al One); best animation ad Absolute Denial (Bridge Way Films, ABSOLUTE DENIAL FILMS); best screenplay a Felix and the Treasure of Morgäa (10th Ave Productions); best soundtrack a Yaya and Lennie – The Walking Liberty (Mad Entertainment, Rai Cinema).
