In the superlative season of the Gialloblù, Iacchini proved to be a reliable goalkeeper with a constant performance. After the youth teams with Pavia and Lombardia Uno, he made his debut among the greats at the age of 16 with Bressana, launched by Mr. Truffi, then passed through Varzi, Pavia, Bressana again, then Apos Stradella and now Casteggio. “As a child I also played as a striker, then I went to goal and never went out, you could see that I was suited for this role”, says Simone, who lives in Mezzanino and works as a worker in a mechanical workshop.

Despite being a Milan fan, Iacchini points to a goalkeeper who made Inter great as a model to follow: «I’ve always liked Julio Cesar. With due proportions, I see myself in him, thanks to his agility, reflexes and instinctive parades ». Iacchini illustrates the main difficulty encountered in defending the Gialloblù goal: «This season I suffer few shots on goal, but I have to be ready when I am called into question. You have to keep your concentration high, maybe I spend 89 minutes without making a save ». Since the summer, the Casteggio has had to live with the underdogs. A pressure that did not affect the yellow and blue path: «We have many experienced players who have indicated the way forward, starting from professionalism and attention to detail. The club has given us a winning mentality and Mr. Landini is very well prepared, he carefully studies his opponents and explains their strengths and weaknesses ”. The only sore point of Casteggio’s record season is linked to the elimination in the Coppa Lombardia, suffered on penalties, with the Milanese of the Ark: “We paid a bad day, too bad because we could have gone a long way in that event too” . –
