Zhejiang team emerged victorious in a thrilling away game against Xinjiang in the Chinese Men’s Basketball Professional League (CBA) semifinals. The game, held on the 4th, ended with a score of 95:85 in favor of Zhejiang, tying the best-of-five series at 1:1.
The Zhejiang team displayed improved defensive intensity in the first quarter, although their inside players struggled with fouls. Xinjiang managed to maintain a slight lead at the end of the quarter, thanks to the stellar performance of Zhao Rui and other players. However, Zhejiang’s foreign aid Carrick Jones stepped up in the second quarter, helping his team establish an 11-point lead by halftime.
As the game progressed, Xinjiang’s offensive efficiency dropped, with Zhao Rui shouldering much of the scoring burden. Meanwhile, Jones continued to shine for Zhejiang, maintaining a 12-point lead heading into the final quarter. Although Xinjiang made a late surge in the fourth quarter, Zhejiang’s Cheng Shuipeng’s scoring contributions helped secure the win for the team.
Four players from Zhejiang scored in double figures, with Jones leading the way with 22 points and Yu Jiahao adding 16 points. On the Xinjiang side, Zhao Rui was the standout performer, putting up 28 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds, while foreign aid Dominic Jones contributed 15 points to the team’s effort.
Following the victory, Zhejiang’s head coach Wang Shilong commended his team for their mental readiness and full commitment on the court. The series now moves to Zhejiang’s home court for the third game on the 7th, where both teams will look to gain the upper hand in this closely contested semifinal matchup.
