Chinese “post-00s” players shine on the Olympic stage (Olympic aspect)
As the Tokyo Olympics enters the second half, most Chinese players have already made their debut on the field. Among them, a group of “post-00s” young people have become the focus of shining on the field in many projects.
Excellent grades, sunny appearance, cheerful personality… all these have become the reason for the audience to be “circled fans”. These young girls and boys in their 20s have not only gradually stirred up the lead in the competition, but also let the world see the demeanor of Chinese young people.
Stir up the main beam in the game
At the Rio Olympics in 2016, Ren Qian, who was only 15 years old at the time, won the women’s singles 10-meter diving championship and won the first Olympic gold medal for a Chinese “post-00” athlete. At that time, the “post-00s” players were still rare in the Chinese sports delegation. In Tokyo, five years later, more than 50 young athletes under the age of 22 have appeared on the Chinese delegation list. Many of them have already assumed the mission of competing for gold and silver on the field.
On the afternoon of July 27, local time, when 35-year-old Pang Wei and 21-year-old Jiang Ranxin represented the Chinese team in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team final, many people couldn’t help but sweat for Jiang Ranxin: Compared with Pang Wei, who participated in the four Olympic Games, whether this little girl born in 2000 can withstand the pressure is still unknown. However, the subsequent games let this worry disappear: in the final, Jiang Ranxin scored more than 10.5 rings many times, including a full 10.9 ring. In the last two crucial shots, she even hit 10.7 consecutive good results, for the Chinese team to win the first gold medal in the history of the Olympic Games and made great contributions.
Shooting, diving and other advantageous projects of the Chinese delegation are the home base of the young heroes of the “post-00s”. Up to now, many young players including Yang Qian and Wang Zongyuan have reached the podium in the Tokyo Olympics. These young people can not only inherit advantages, but also create feats that have never been done before. On July 29, in the women’s 4×200m freestyle relay final, the Chinese team won the championship and broke the Olympic record for the event. Among the 4 contestants, Yang Junxuan, Tang Muhan and Li Bingjie are all “post-00s.”
“Ito is still very good. As a peer, I always find it fun to play against her.” On the 29th, 20-year-old Sun Yingsha defeated Japanese player Mima Ito and met her teammate Chen Meng in the women’s singles final. In an interview after the game, Sun Yingsha’s answer was also very generous. The general style and strong strength together constitute the image of the Chinese “post-00” athletes.
Youth blooming outside the stadium
On the morning of July 24, the first match day of the Tokyo Olympics opened. Yang Qian, who just passed her 21st birthday, won the championship with her outstanding performance and won the first gold medal of this Olympic Games! She is also remembered as her excellent performance, and her “heart-to-heart” action when receiving the award made countless audiences unchallenged shouting: “Moe!” She loves to laugh, loves food, and is passionate about life. Yang Qian’s wonderful appearance made people discover that China’s “post-00s” have grown up, and they are using their own methods to step onto the stage of the times.
After winning her first gold, Yang Qian not only made the world remember her superb shooting skills, but also made everyone remember her preference for braised prawns. Being called “home for dinner” by my family has become the treatment for many “post-00s” players. “It’s yam, yam ribs soup.” Wang Zongyuan was a little shy when he revealed the “private kitchen” prepared by his family.
On August 2, 21-year-old Li Wenwen won the championship of women’s weightlifting over 87 kg. The “eat and broadcast” of young girls in the Olympic Village is even more enthusiastic, allowing more people to see the other side of young people after they have stepped off the stadium. Young athletes use their youthful vitality to attract people’s attention to the Olympics, and the heroic appearance on the court is no longer the only topic.
Young footsteps never stop
Every day of the Tokyo Olympic Games, young people are constantly creating surprises. On August 2, among the five gold medals that the Chinese sports delegation won, two of them were Zhang Changhong and Li Wenwen, both of whom are “post-00s”. On the afternoon of August 3, the two “post-00” contestants Guan Chenchen and Tang Qianjing both defeated the American gymnast Byers and took the first and second place in the women’s balance beam event.
In the Olympics this year, Wu Jingyu, Pang Wei and other veterans who are still holding on are moving, and the emergence of young players is also commendable. “The young people are all up.” This is the unanimous emotion of many champions and veterans including Gong Lijiao. Among the 431 athletes in the Chinese sports delegation, more than 300 “post-90s” have become the backbone, and the number of “post-00s” has reached more than 50. Both on and off the stadium, they have continuously injected vitality into Chinese sports, showing the spirit of Chinese young people to the world.
In the women’s gymnastics team finals on July 27, Lu Yufei, who was born in 2000, fell heavily on the mat during the uneven bars. Before people had time to worry about her, Lu Yufei had climbed up. “Can I flip it again?” After getting the coach’s affirmation, she immediately reinvested in the game. More sunny and confident is the appearance of these “post-00s” on the court, but the quality of the predecessors’ hard work and never giving up is also firmly imprinted in their bodies.
On July 26, 16-year-old Zeng Wenhui won the sixth place in the women’s skateboard street competition finals. As a new major event of the Tokyo Olympics, there are many “post-00” and even “post-05” athletes in skateboarding competitions. In the rock climbing project, Pan Yufei and Song Yiling are both young players in their early 20s. In the future Olympics, we look forward to more young Chinese players sing their own songs of youth.
