Agreement between sponsors to guarantee the 13 thousand euros of the Fip installment. Monastero: “Punto Edile remains as long as there is no Caserio”

Pavia

The horizon now clears and appears less dense with clouds. To be sure we will have to wait for the next few hours, let’s say between today and tomorrow, but the 13 thousand euros to register Omnia Pavia in the next Serie B championship, honoring the deadline with the Fip, have come up. The payment in the federal coffers – however still to be formalized – will guarantee the immediate future of the team and the permanence of the cadet basketball in the city, even if the knots relating to the corporate reorganization still remain to be resolved, after the owner and reference shareholder Gianni Perruchon has externalized the intention to sell the majority shares, and to the budget to be put together for the market.

On this front, now close to the overcoming of the rock of the inscription, the meetings and contacts multiply. Perruchon himself, Fabio Monastero, patron of Punto Edile (building equipment and materials company, Omnia sponsor), the team manager Alberto Rai and the manager Marco Pignagnoli would have met yesterday after dinner to take stock of the situation and start planning the new season. “Punto Edile, with the subsidiary Punto Infissi, is ready to confirm its presence in support of the project – explains Monastero – as long as the current president and sole director Lele Caserio leaves the scene”. The reasons for the conflict, Monastero reiterates as follows: «Since last October, Caserio has slammed the door in our face and our repeated requests to be treated in a dignified way, adequate to our commitment, have fallen on deaf ears. In a few days we have resolved the issue of 13 thousand euros, in six months he has not even found a financier ». For Monastero, therefore, the corporate reshuffle will necessarily have to start with a reset of the offices and a step back from Caserio. Then we will move on to the appointment of the board, with the entry of new members (on whose identity is kept confidential for now). There is talk of an operational role for Barbara Bandiera, the basketball lady from Pavia, current honorary president of Omnia, heard yesterday on the phone from Monastero. And there is also talk of a sort of popular shareholding, with the appeal addressed to the fans after the deadline-trap of 7 July.

In any case, the figure of Gianmarco Centinaio, senator and undersecretary for agricultural policies, remains central, in this very delicate phase, who, in agreement with Perruchon, remained available to act as guarantor of the operation intended to lead to the passage of quotas from the old to the new ownership, and the corporate relaunch. Caserio also indicated it as such in the meeting (“very cordial”) yesterday afternoon with Dario Scotti. The rice industrialist would have said he was willing to maintain his profile as main sponsor (while there would have been no mention of a possible direct entry into the company, in which Scotti and Scotti do not seem interested). The managing director, who on Monday had heard coach Attilio Caja (who, like Barbara Bandiera, obviously cares about the fate of basketball in Pavia) at the end said he was willing to take that “step back” requested by Monastero. “If it serves the good of Omnia – he said – I am ready to do so”. –
