The National Rifle and Pistol Shooting Team trials for the Paris Olympics have been underway at the Santang Sports Training Base in Nanning, Guangxi since February 3. The intense competition has seen many outstanding performances, with several Zhejiang players achieving remarkable results.
On the final day of competition, Zhejiang teenager Sun Yujie clinched first place in the women’s 25-meter pistol final with a world record score of 42. Another Zhejiang player, Feng Sixuan, secured the fourth position. In the 10-meter air rifle final, Han Jiayu emerged victorious in the women’s group, followed by Wang Zifei and Wang Zhilin, who claimed second and third place respectively.
Han Jiayu’s impressive performance saw her setting a new world record score of 254.8, defeating her opponent by 0.6 points. Meanwhile, Huang Yuting from Zhejiang emerged as the women’s champion in the 10-meter air rifle mixed team trial.
Looking ahead to the Paris Olympics, the shooting events are expected to be a major area of focus for the Chinese delegation. According to the schedule, the first gold medal of the games will be contested in shooting. Du Li, the national shooting team coach, emphasized that the team’s primary focus is on the Olympics and that training and preparations are in full swing.
