La Maquina Corrects Medical Report, Argentine Defender Suffers Acromioclavicular Dislocation
Mexican soccer team La Maquina has updated the medical report on Argentine defender Piovi, clarifying that he did not suffer a fracture as initially reported, but rather an acromioclavicular dislocation.
“After the application of imaging studies, it is ruled out that the player has a fracture, being an acromioclavicular dislocation with a shorter recovery time. We offer an apology for the error in the first report,” La Maquina stated in a press release.
While some fans mocked Cruz Azul’s mistake in their initial report, others are optimistic about Piovi’s quicker return to the field. The team did not specify the length of time the defender will be out, but the estimated recovery time for this type of injury is around 2 months, potentially allowing him to be ready for the start of the Leagues Cup.
Piovi played in all 17 games of the tournament, starting in each one and only failing to complete the full match in three instances. His absence will be felt by the team, but they are hopeful for his speedy recovery and return to the pitch.
