The second event of the first edition of the “Grand Slam Dolomitico” took place on Wednesday 1 May, the twelve-stage circuit that combines cycling and running and the territories of Cadore, Comelico and Carnia, in some of the most evocative mountain locations between Veneto and Friuli .
The competition took place in Centro Cadore, in Calalzo, for the Tour of the Coastsan event proposed by the local Gruppo Marciatori, in synergy with the Spiquy Team, has reached its conclusion 51.ma edition. Over two hundred competitors were able to choose whether to compete in the running-only version or in the duathlon, running and mountain biking version, individually or in pairs.
As for the running, in the men’s field Gabriele Del Longo, a Cadore native from Calalzo who wears the Bergamo-based La Recastello Radici Group, won, ahead of the Italian ski mountaineering athlete Pietro Festini Purlan and Dylan De Michiel. Among women, success for Martina Festini Purlan over Martina De Silvestro and Silvia Vecellio.
In the bike section, Davide Nardei was ahead of everyone in the men’s field, with Manuel Da Col and Simone Scarella completing the podium. Among the girls, hurray for Lara Zandomenego, ahead of Martina De Silvestro and Cecilia De Filippo.
As regards the duathlon, the titles of “ironman” and “ironwoman”, i.e. winner of the single duathlon, went to Michele Festini Purlan and Martina De Silvestro. These, however, are the winning couples – Women: Silvia Giacomelli – Lara Zandomenego. Men: Gabriele Del Longo – Manuel Da Col. Mixed: Martina Festini Purlan – Francesco Grandelis.
It should be underlined that around sixty very young athletes also participated in the Giro delle Coste, competing on routes of short length and height difference.
The next appointment with the “Dolomitic Grand Slam” is set for June 9th in Vigo di Cadore with the Cross Country of the Dolomitesmountain bike event organized by the Spiquy Team.

To register for the circuit, and therefore compete for the final ranking, you have until the fourth test, scheduled for June 16th. Currently, the number of participants has exceeded 50. The final awards ceremony will take place in late autumn (the date and place will be set in the coming weeks) and will include, alongside the awards for the first place winners, the drawing of various technical prizes (clothing, running shoes , bike frames).
