Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic with 56 total points led the Dallas Mavs to victory on the pitch against the Sacramento Kings, the 6th consecutive for the Texan franchise.
In the post-match the two All-Stars preferred to shift attention to Dante Exum, author of the decisive triple.
“Incredible, and this shows the confidence with which our team plays,” explains Doncic. “We know they will often double me and Kyrie. But we have confidence in passing the ball, the whole team is like that. This shows that our group is fantastic. Now we’re really having fun out there. Today we played terrible and we won anyway. Outside of Irving, who was fantastic. We missed a lot of open shots and still won. So it’s fantastic.”
In the finale, the Slovenian phenomenon was the protagonist of a skit with Vlade Divac, former GM of the Kings who on the night of the 2018 NBA Draft decided to choose Marvin Bagley at No.2 instead of Luka.
After greeting Divac, the Mavs star, returning to the bench, repeated several times: “He should have chosen me.”
