Emiliano Mascetti, Hellas flag and ds of the 1985 championship died

Farewell to Emiliano “Ciccio” Mascetti “, flag of Hellas Verona of which he was also sporting director in the year of the Scudetto. Mascetti was 78 years old and had been ill for some time. Born in Como, from 1967 to 1980 he had been an appreciated midfielder of the Gialloblù Scala with whom he had won two promotions in Serie A, totaling 330 appearances in 11 seasons with 42 goals.

For only two seasons, from 1973 to 1975, he had moved to Turin. After his career as a player he had been for nine years as manager of Verona, protagonist of the historic conquest of the Scudetto alongside the coach Osvaldo Bagnoli in 1985.

He later worked as a sports director for eight years at Roma (an Italian Cup and a Uefa Cup final), then at Atalanta until 2002 and as a consultant at Sampdoria. Many messages of condolence, from Verona to Turin.
