The Milan office, in via Santa Croce 19, is submerged by letters, testimonies, flowers and donations in memory of its founder. All this in a particularly delicate moment for Emergency’s activities which are focused on the situation in Afghanistan where the organization manages 3 hospitals and 44 first aid stations, open and functioning. Of the 25 Italians present on site, only those not strictly necessary, such as administrative staff, returned, while doctors and nurses from the international team decided to continue to provide their service. “Gino – explain from the organization – would have liked us to take care of this”.
