Good news for the weakened FC Bayern. Two top performers are ready for action in the quarter-final second leg against Arsenal FC. Goal scorer Harry sees a big plus for the duel in terms of personnel anyway. His review of the league season, however, is disillusioning.
Goalscorer Harry Kane is looking forward to FC Bayern Munich’s quarter-final second leg against Arsenal FC with a lot of confidence. “We have a great opportunity in front of our home crowd and want to keep the season alive,” said the 30-year-old on Tuesday in the Allianz Arena. He described the game on Wednesday (9 p.m., in the WELT sports ticker) as a “great moment. Kane scored 32 goals in the Bundesliga, in which he is chasing Robert Lewandowski’s 41-goal record season. In the Champions League, he leads the top scorers list before the quarter-final second legs with seven goals ahead of Antoine Griezmann (Atlético Madrid), Erling Haaland (Manchester City) and Kylian Mbappé (Paris St. Germain). However, after the draw in the first leg, Tuchel pointed out the appeal of the starting position. “The winner goes through, the loser goes out,” said Tuchel. “We have a game to take the next big step in this wonderful competition. We are ready to put everything on the table.”
Arsenal FC can plan for the appearance in Munich with captain Martin Odegaard. The 25-year-old Norwegian, who was injured after the 2-0 Premier League loss to Aston Villa, trained with the team in London on Tuesday before departure.
