Serge Gnabry once again had to leave the pitch injured against Real Madrid. FC Bayern has now confirmed that the offensive player is out of the season. Participation in the European Championship is now almost impossible for Gnabry.
FC Bayern’s press release had a title that has been read several times this season: Serge Gnabry is out. On Friday, the record champions announced the next devastating diagnosis for the national player. The attacker tore a muscle bundle in his left back thigh in the semi-final second leg of the Champions League against Real Madrid (1:2). Gnabry was substituted against Real in the 27th minute.
“It’s the same injury again, the hamstring again. I think it’s going to take a while,” Thomas Tuchel speculated after the bitter departure from DAZN. Gnabry had already suffered a similar injury in the quarter-final first leg on April 9th at Arsenal (2-2) and was out for weeks afterwards.
According to information from “Bild”, Gnabry will be out for around six weeks this time. Participation in the European Championships in Germany seems practically impossible for the offensive player. National coach Julian Nagelsmann will announce his squad for the European Championships on May 16th. It is unlikely that Gnabry will be there after another injury shock (he was out for four weeks in March). The Bayern professional would not be ready for action until the round of 16 at the earliest.

The European Championship begins on June 14th with the opening game of the German selection against Scotland. The DFB team will previously play two test matches on June 3rd against Ukraine and on June 7th against Greece.

Gnabry (45 appearances), who was last part of the national team in the defeats against Turkey and Austria in November, was injured several times this season. After hip problems, a broken forearm and a brief illness last year, he had to miss three games due to muscle injuries. After making his comeback in February after a long break, he had to take another break for over two weeks in April.
