At the starting line for the 2021-22 season of Pavia football, a new reality is appearing. It is FC Portalbera, a club headed by the patron Marsilio Veronese, a well-known face of local football for his past as president of Bronese. The management staff of the new association, which will play in group B of the third category, is made up of the vice president Diego Veronese, the sports director Stefano Mangiarotti and the secretary Luca Poggi.
“We already wanted to leave last season, but the pandemic forced us to postpone it for a year. The idea of forming this team stems from the fact that we want to give a future to our young people in the 2007 class. On the market, we have created the right mix between young people and some “old men”, and we are convinced that we have built a competitive group “, he explains. the ds Mangiarotti. Giorgio Scala will sit on the FC Portalbera bench, a coach with extensive experience in the youth field and in the past a Bronese player, at the time led by the patron Veronese: “The group is mixing well, there are many young people and some players expert, ready to make himself available to others. We will try to have our say in every field », says the coach.
The new team from Oltrepadana will play the home games on the Ripaldina field at Arena Po: «We would have liked to play at Portalbera – Mangiarotti points out – but we were unable to get the green light from the Municipality and Portalberese (Second category team). We do not argue, but our hope is that the problem can be solved for next season, in the meantime our home will be in Ripaldina ». In the technical staff of FC Portalbera, alongside mister Scala, there are Marco Marangon, assistant coach and Giorgio Colnaghi, goalkeeper trainer. –
