The hypothesis of reform of the D series (and at the same time of the C series) does not warm the spirits of the Belluno Dolomites, and in general it seems accepted with little enthusiasm even by several other realities. In any case, everything is in the process of becoming and for this reason the National Amateur League has launched a survey among all the companies, regarding the proposal drawn up by president Figc Gravina. Are you for or against? An answer must be given by tomorrow, but the line of opposition seems to prevail from Belluno.

Currently the national football hierarchy is simple and includes: Serie A, Serie B, Serie C and Serie D, and to follow the regional championships. The FIGC, on the other hand, would like to arrive at this subdivision: Serie A, Serie B, Serie C Élite, Serie C, Serie D Élite and Serie D. And it is precisely on the division of Serie D that the requests made to the management are concentrated. In the intentions – and on the timing perhaps there is the least clear aspect of all – already this year the D series would be organized as follows: Elite D series with 2 groups of 18 teams (the 9 relegated from C and 27 promoted by D ) and behind it the D series made up of 7 groups of 18 teams (102 teams of the D 2021-2022 and 24 newly promoted from the championship of Excellence). But what would be the selection criteria to identify the teams to be promoted immediately in D Élite? Above all, those excluded from the D Elite would in fact be “relegated”.
FUTURE
All this, through a gradual process, should lead to the definitive framework in the 2024-2025 tournament, in which a D Elite is foreseen made up of a total of 54 teams, three promotions in Serie C and 6 relegations in Serie D. And the D would see at the via 108 teams with six promotions in D Elite and 24 relegations in Excellence. Not easy to explain, but equally complicated to achieve by eye, having also to involve C and Excellence. –
