Monica Boggioni won silver with the 4×50 mixed relay at the Paralympic World Swimming Championships being held in Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira. The quartet from the United States dominated the race closing with a time of 2’32 “49, while behind him the fight for the other two places on the podium broke out: the blue team, made up of captain Efrem Morelli who swam in the fraction breaststroke, then Boggioni from Pavia engaged in the backstroke leg, Giulia Terzi in the dolphin fraction and Francesco Bocciardo in the freestyle one, fought hard, finishing in second place with 15 hundredths of a second margin over Spain (2’42 “66 against 2’42” 81).

In fact, tomorrow morning Boggioni will be engaged in the battery of the S5 200 freestyle (0re 10.41) and in the afternoon (19.31) she will be in the water in the final of the 200 style. Finally, on Saturday in the morning (11.28) she will be engaged in the 100 style battery and in the evening (22.35) in the final. Monica has already won two silver medals (100 breaststroke and 4×50 mixed) and three bronze medals (50 style, 4×50 style, 50 back). –
