Final four to forget Cortina (at 7pm) on the difficult ice of Jesenice

Luca De Michiel / CORTINA

After the disappointing week in the final four scudetto, Cortina is back on the ice in the Alps Master Round, at 7pm, in Jesenice. A good test for the Hafro, given the level of the opponent.

«It will be a very difficult match», confirms Marco Sanna, striker of the squirrels, «Jesenice clearly won the regular season proving to be the strongest team in the championship. We know it but we are convinced that with a good race on the part of everyone we can bring something home ».

Last week Cortina was involved in the Scudetto finals, finishing fourth.

«We were aware of what forces were on the field», explains Sanna, «and we knew we weren’t the strongest. With the round robin formula, however, we could have had an opportunity to do well. Unfortunately, after losing the first two races in a bad way, our path was inevitably compromised and the match against Gherdeina no longer counted for anything ».

Now Hafro can concentrate on the Alp and trying to close the gap to reach fourth place. After losing the first two matches against Asiago and Renon, the Ampezzans got the better of Fassa, moving the ranking.

«There are still many games and it is a goal that can be achieved», concludes Sanna, «there are 6 games to go and it is all to be written. I think it will be a fight between us, Fassa and Lustenau. I am convinced that we can still surprise someone ».
