General Administration of Sports Launches Target Management Pilot Program
The General Administration of Sports recently held a target management pilot work deployment meeting aimed at promoting the construction of a sports power and enhancing sports governance capabilities. At the meeting, seven pilot units signed target responsibility letters on site and issued a “military order”, officially kicking off the General Administration’s target management pilot work.
The implementation of goal management reform is a strategic and bold move by the Party Committee of the General Administration of Sport. The reform aims to systematically advance the construction of a sports power, break down the overall goal of a sports power into specific targets for each unit and each year, and deepen sports reform in line with central government requirements.
The Tennis Center, Olympic Sports Center, Anyang Aviation School, Scientific Research Institute, Information Center, Lottery Center, and China Taekwondo Association have all committed to treating the pilot work as a long-term development strategy for the General Administration. They will work towards achieving the pilot goals, accumulating experience, innovating, and laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive implementation of target management in the General Administration system next year.
Deputy director Zhang Jiasheng emphasized the importance of target management in implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s directives and accelerating the construction of a strong sports country. He highlighted the role of target management in improving administrative efficiency, enhancing governance capabilities, and promoting reform in the sports field.
All pilot units are urged to strengthen organizational leadership, systematically promote target management, and create a competitive and goal-oriented environment within the General Administration. The goal is to work quickly and strive for excellence in achieving the objectives set forth in the pilot program.
