But it was important to go back to winning and coach Marco Maranesi breathes a sigh of relief by keeping the two points tight. «We took the usual break on the spin jump which, however, is not justified; then, however, the character came out, but also the pride and the qualities of the players – he comments – In this match we saw the real Magalini, because he has these potentialities that up to now he had not been able to fully express ».

The turning point in the second set

From the second set onwards, Garlasco began to play with a completely different attitude, overturning the course of the match and then in the fourth set, probably, he wasted an opportunity: “There is regret because, in the fourth set, we were ahead and with different situations to make further break and we did not succeed. But there is much more that must be positively emphasized, for example the approach and the attitude with which we faced and won a tie break at that very delicate point. And other signs, starting with the long trades that had always penalized us until now. This time we have often prevailed and they have rewarded our most patient attitude ». However, there is not too much time to celebrate because on Sunday at 7pm at the PalaRavizza another direct clash against Sa.Ma. Portomaggiore who, in the midweek round, did not play due to the non-arrival of San Donà di Piave not present for potential Covid cases in the team. “We will arrive at this match with ten sets played in a week, we hope not to be penalized”, comments Maranesi, observing how the number of games that skip due to Covid is growing and with the dates of recoveries to be defined.
