The dilemma that gripped the executives of amateur clubs in the aftermath of the snow that hit our region last Wednesday and which, due to low temperatures, remained covering the playing fields, had its answer in the late afternoon of last Friday. when the Piedmontese Regional Committee, chaired by Christian Mossino, with a communication established that “taking into account the adverse weather conditions that affected the entire territory of the two regions and considering that the playing fields are almost entirely impracticable, the postponement of the official Regional 11-a-side football activity for men and women of both the National Amateur League and the Youth and School Sector scheduled for Friday 10, Saturday 11, Sunday 12 and Monday 13 December 2021, with the exception of the Championship of Excellence whose races remain on the calendar ».

This is by virtue of the rule that obliges the clubs of Excellence to remove the snow fallen in the 72 hours prior to the match or alternatively to find a suitable playing field to play the race. Still in the communication regarding the suspension of the activity, it was announced that it will resume on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December with the races not held the weekend just ended. It remains to be established on which date the round scheduled for December 18-19 will be played as regards the Promotion, the First category and the youth sector championships, especially those of a regional nature.

It is likely that in this regard, given that the championships should resume next Sunday 9 January with the 1st return day, the holiday of 6 January will be used to conclude the first round before starting the second round. The suspension decreed does not involve the five-a-side football championships that have continued their activities on the calendar as scheduled. –
