Master Swans Gmunden won the duel between the pursuers of leader Klosterneuburg with 76:71 in the basketball super league against the Traiskirchen Lions on Sunday. Until shortly before the end, the hosts were within one point of Gmunden, but they kept their nerve at the free throw line and are now four points behind Klosterneuburg. The Lions and St. Pölten, who won 78:69 against a weakened Oberwartern team, are four more points behind.

There was an 88:65 away win in the Styrian derby between the Fürstenfeld Panthers and UBSC Graz. The Fürstenfelder are still waiting for their first success of the season. The comparison between the two Viennese clubs, however, ended with a home win.
The Timberwolves retained the upper hand against BC Vienna after halftime with a score of 62:56 and thus secured their third win of the season. On Saturday, Klosterneuburg defeated fifth-placed Welser at home with 73:64, while Kapfenberg against BBC Nord Dragonz ended with 105:84.
