Guangdong strengthens the construction of the “Northern Ice-South Exhibition” demonstration zone
Yesterday, the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau held a summary meeting for Guangdong Province’s participation in the 14th National Winter Games at the Provincial Huangcun Sports Training Center. The meeting aimed to summarize Guangdong’s preparations and participation in the 14th Winter Games and commend the athletes and teams who made outstanding contributions.
Guangdong’s ice and snow athletes won a total of 13 golds, 19 silvers, and 10 bronzes in the “14th Winter,” ranking among the best in southern provinces and cities. They achieved “a moral gold medal, a style gold medal, and a clean gold medal,” showcasing both sports performance and spiritual civilization.
Cui Jian, deputy head of the “14th Winter” Guangdong delegation, emphasized the need to plan the development of ice and snow sports strategically. He highlighted the importance of focusing on building a strong sports province and seizing strategic opportunities in the “post-Winter Olympics” era.
Zhao Jianxin, director of the Huangcun Sports Training Center of Guangdong Province, praised Guangdong’s achievements in the National Winter Games. He expressed confidence in the center’s ability to continue building a strong ice and snow sports team for the province.
Athletes like Peng Junyue and Li Ruilin, who won medals in the “14th Winter,” shared their gratitude for the strong training support and their determination to strive for more success in future competitions.
