Yesterday, the first quarter-final of the 2024 Uber Cup Badminton Team Competition concluded in Chengdu with an impressive performance from the Chinese women’s team. They secured a 3-0 victory over the Danish team, securing a spot in the semi-finals for the 21st consecutive time. Chen Yufei, Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan, and He Bingjiao all defeated their opponents in straight sets, maintaining an unbeaten record in the Uber Cup so far.

The Chinese women’s team has been dominating the competition, winning all their matches in the group stage by sweeping Singapore, Canada, and India with 5-0 victories each. Even against the strong Indian team, they managed to secure a 2-0 win in all five matches. The players have been in top form, showcasing their skills and determination throughout the tournament.

Despite the Danish team’s ranking as the top team in Europe, they were no match for the Chinese team’s superior skills and performance. Chen Yufei set the tone for the match with a commanding win over her opponent in straight sets. The doubles pair of Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan continued the winning streak with another 2-0 victory, securing the Chinese team’s lead.

In a slightly suspenseful match, He Bingjiao faced tough competition in the second singles match. However, she managed to clinch the win in two closely contested sets, securing the Chinese team’s spot in the semi-finals. With this victory, the Chinese team has not lost a single set or game in the competition, showcasing their dominance and determination to reclaim the Uber Cup title.
