Hafro Cortina, three points in Lienz and sixth place will be reality Moser: “It was our goal”

The Alps descends on the ice at 7pm for the last day of the regular season with Cortina busy in Lienz.

For the Ampezzani this is the return on the ice after 20 days, leaving behind the problems due to Covid, with the sole objective of defending the position among the top six in the class.

Hafro will be in Austria almost fully, the only one absent will be Andrea Moser who, due to a recent collarbone injury, will no longer be available this season.

Despite the postponements of the last few weeks, the few games played in Alps have meant that Cortina can present itself on the last day in sixth position. The criterion of average points, adopted by the league in the race, does not yet give the Squirrels the mathematical certainty of a place in the top six. The Fassa, in fact, by winning against the rear Vienna, could still undermine the Hafro. Machacka’s team will therefore have to obligatorily seek the three points this evening. «It will not be easy to get back on the ice after a long period of stoppage», explains the forward Andrea Moser, «plus the team will have to face a long away match. The approach to the match will certainly be fundamental, we must be ready and attentive in the first 10 minutes ». Moser will not be able to help his teammates because he was forced to close the season early due to a collarbone injury. The remote support for the team will certainly not be lacking. «With a win we are in the top six; it was our goal and we want to achieve it ».

CLOU PERIOD

But woe to underestimate the Lienz, even if penultimate. «The favorable results of the last rounds give us this possibility», explains Moser, «we are entering the hot period of the season, between Alps and the Scudetto. We work all year for this moment, we need to be ready and hope to be with the complete roster ».

The championship will then continue with the Master Round (for the first six) and the Qualification Round (for all the others). After the Master Round the first four will go directly to the quarters; fifth and sixth will face the pre-playoffs against the best three of the two groups of the Qualification Round.
