Catania, 27 October 2021 – A graphic by 3bmeteo illustrates the trajectory of the Medicane, the Mediterranean hurricane headed for the Sicily, already put to the test bywave of bad weather at the beginning of the week. “In fact, the formation of a tropical-like Mediterranean cyclone associated with winds comparable to those of a hurricane, which between Thursday evening and Friday should rise up the Ionian Sea and reach part of Southern Italy,” confirms 3bmeteo.com meteorologist Edoardo Ferrara, who warns: “Although there are still uncertainties related to the trajectory of the vortex, the areas affected by a new severe wave of bad weather should be Calabria and eastern Sicily. On these areas starting from Thursday evening and during the course of Friday we expect bad weather conditions, sometimes severe with rains and thunderstorms sometimes with a downpour and stormy winds, with gusts of over 100km / h on the Ionian and violent storm surges on the exposed coasts ” .
“The slopes most at risk will be the ionic ones, therefore: Syracusan, Catanese, Ionian Messinese, then Reggino, Locride in general, Catanzaro and Crotone.
