The Swedish striker reveals in his book ‘I am football’ his favorite lineup of players with whom he has shared a team
Xavi, Maxwell, Messi and Ronaldinho are the Barça representation of an eleven without Cristiano
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who announced his retirement a few days ago, has revealed in his book ‘I am football’ his ideal eleven of players with whom he has shared a dressing room. The Swede explains, case by case, why he has chosen a player and there is a wide Barça representation: four players in the starting lineup and one on the bench.
In defense the Swede chooses Maxwell as left back. The Brazilian, who is one of the striker’s best friends in the world of football, coincided with Ibra at Barça and before that at Ajax. “A very elegant player”, in the words of the Swede. For the midfield, Ibrahimovic does not forget Xavi, the current Barça coach. “He was never wrong, they called him mister perfect”recalls in his book.
Two legends up front
For the attack, the Swede has included two ex-azulgranas, two legends like Messi, “a Playstation player, the best of all time” and Ronaldinho, “a genius”on the far left.
The four are part of the following eleven: Buffon, Thuram, Thiago Silva, Nesta, Maxwell; Vieira, Nedved, Xavi; Messi, Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic. A lineup from which the two Ronaldos, the Portuguese and the Brazilian, who was Ibrahimovic’s great childhood idol, are left out.
On the bench, another representative of Barça, Andrés Iniesta, who accompanies Seedorf, Gattuso, Cannavaro and Julio César.
