Paolo De Toffol from Belluno from Noventa, together with his teammate Mattia Aliprandi, won the selection competition at the Italian championships in pairs category B organized by Dolada in Nuova Erto, in the municipality of Ponte. In the final, De Toffol and Aliprandi beat the home couple of Dolada made up of Andrea Carlin and Biagio De Vecchi with the minimum gap (11-10). Third place for Stefano De Gol and Pierluigi Bordiga of the Bocce club Belluno (overtaken by the Noventa 7-6 in a match decided by De Toffol at the last bowl) followed by the tandem of the Saranese composed of Roberto Bellotto and Paolino Brisotto (defeated 11-2 by Dolada by Carlin and De Vecchi). All four finalist couples, in any case, qualified for the Italian championships that will take place right in the province, thanks to the organization of the Fib di Belluno-Feltre committee.
Another of the Dolada couples present in the match is still hoping for a repechage, the one made up of Renato Salvador and Diego Divina, fifth classified and, therefore, at least for now, eliminated.
First category. In the meantime, Cavarzano won the derby of the second round of the First Category bowls championship by beating a tenacious Mugnai 11-7. Cavarzano prevailed with De Biasi and De Toffol in the first couple (11-1), with Canova in the first individual (11-7), with Renna and De Min in the second couple (11-5), with Dal Pont and De Toffol in the third pair (11-3), with Renna, Marconato and Canova in the second set of three (11-9). Il Mugnai, on the other hand, took home the first three with Baruffolo, Canal and De Din (9-8), the second individual with Fiorot (11-7) and the fourth couple with Bottegal and Lavina, later taken over by Panceri (9 -6). The precision shooting test ended in a draw: 10-10 between Dal Pont and Canal. –
