Group defined: sixteen teams, with Umbrians and Tuscans Three teams are relegated, one after the playout challenges

The National Women’s Football Federation last Thursday, August 5 established the composition of the Serie C groups in the next season, with Independiente Ivrea which, for the second consecutive year, was included in group A. Compared to last season, however, they are many news: first of all the number of teams, no longer twelve, but sixteen, with a consequent change of the rules, since there will no longer be a promotion to B and a relegation to D. The new formula provides for the last two teams to be relegated directly to D, with the third last and fourth last who will play the playout: the winner will remain in Serie C, the loser will keep company with the last two in D. Only the first classified will go up to B. Championship which, barring unforeseen events, will start on Sunday October 10 and the calendar should also be published in the next few days.

Compared to last season, the Independiente will find only more Pinerolo, the only other Piedmontese formation, Spezia women and Genoa Women among the Ligurian teams, Real Meda and Gallarate Solbiatese 1911 between the Lombard and the Sardinian of Caprera. As for the other teams in the group, Independiente Ivrea in Lombardy will also face Fiamma Monza, Pavia and Orobica Bergamo. He will also go to Tuscany and Umbria: in Tuscany he will face Arezzo, Pontedera, Pistoiese and Lucchese, while in Umbria he will face Perugia and Ternana.

A very demanding group, in which the priority objective remains a peaceful salvation and in order to try to obtain it, the Ivorian club of president Roberto Tridello, in recent days, has reached an agreement with the strong striker Arianna Montecucco, in the 2019/2020 season author of eighteen goals in Ravenna in Serie B. Resident in Serravalle Scrivia, in the province of Alessandria, 26 years of surveyor profession, Montecucco explains: “The Independiente Ivrea immediately made a good impression on me and, despite having had other offers, in the end I decided to accept the Ivrea’s proposal, above all because it is a healthy society. What can I promise? Certainly a lot of effort and I wouldn’t mind going double-digit again – says Montecucco -. I will have to join the team, but luckily I already know the striker Lavarone and the midfielder Ambrosi, having played together for many years in Serie B both in Novi Ligure and in Alba. Officially my adventure with the new orange jersey will begin on Saturday 21 August, when Romano Canavese will resume preparation for the next season and I want to be as ready as possible to help the team reach the priority goal of the season: a quiet salvation, to be achieved as soon as possible, as this club deserves and has already done during the past season ».
